This hand carved wooden hummingbird in the perched pose, 7.5"H, captures that brief stillness with iridescent-toned plumage and a delicate perched stance on a natural wood branch. Base approx. 4.5"L, 3.5"W.

Aviologie's style has elements of distressing and natural variation that are part of what makes each piece unique. Their photos represent the birds accurately, but they are individually hand carved pieces with the soul of variation, not cast resin replicas.
Their bases are off cuts of wood logs that are intentionally left to the elements — sun, rain, and time to enhance natural character like a found object in the woods. Insect holes, cracks, weathering etc are intended to reflect Aviologie's imperfect, handmade aesthetic.
Jesus said "consider the birds" (Luke 12:24), so they did!
