Hand Carved Wooden Baltimore Oriole — 6.5"H

The Baltimore oriole is one of the great jewels of the North American backyard — that blazing orange against jet black, one of the most vivid and immediately recognisable songbirds on the continent. This hand carved wooden oriole, 6.5"H, captures that bold contrast with careful hand-painted detail.

Handmade Character

Aviologie's style has elements of distressing and natural variation that are part of what makes each piece unique. Their photos represent the birds accurately, but they are individually hand carved pieces with the soul of variation, not cast resin replicas.

Our Story

Jesus said "consider the birds" (Luke 12:24), so they did!
Designed on Vancouver Island by Anna & David, each bird is brought to life by the same three families of skilled artisans they have supported, and been supported by, for over 15 years.
Drawing on centuries-old village carving techniques, they blend indigenous folk art with modern design to create timeless art pieces that are simple, refined, and equally at home in settings (rustic, classic or modern), as varied as their customers.
